Difficult Parents

I had a parent show up at my door last season asking me why his son was not playing more and starting. I ask him if our starting half back was better than his son and he said yes. But, he still wanted his son to start on offense. His son was getting a significant amount of playtime on Defense as a Corner and Safety. I told him I would see what I could do, but we had a starting half back.

I have a 10 year-old boy whose been playing for 3 years now. In my case I face the challenge of having a boy who excels in the sport. During the last three years he has now rushed for 49 tds - yes, 49 tds. I would strongly reflect that my son has been a humble and very coachable kid throughout his football experience. My son is 10 and has been playing football since he was 6. He has been a starter on both sides of the ball this entire time.
